Come and enjoy the beauty of the Finger Lakes, the rolling hills of the Finger Lake National State Forest, and the majesty of the ability to enjoy it by horseback.

We at the Painted Bar Stable are proud of our local area and the accessibility that it presents to horses of all shapes and riders of all kinds. By focusing on trail riding and equine pleasure, we work to share our love of horses, particularly APHA Paints, and the grandeur of our home.

Established as the Painted Bar Stables in 2003, the stables changed ownership in early 2008. The new owner, Erika Eckstrom, has since brought new life to the stable, revitalizing the farm and doing needed renovations in order to make it into the community landmark that it was in the 1960s and 1970s.

Operating predominantly as a pleasure riding and breeding facility, the Painted Bar Stables lives up to its name by producing the highest quality APHA painted and colored horses. Standing at stud is Sierras All The Gold, a 2002 Perlino homozygous creme tobiano stallion that is guaranteed to produce creme dilute offspring: buckskin, chestnut, dun, champagne dilute, perlino and cremello. Painted Bar Stables is also home to the offspring of Pepsi Poco and other champion APHA and AQHA offspring.

Painted Bar Stable also provides refuge for a number of rescue horses. Erika has long been dedicated to offering home to horses who have been injured on the track or neglected and has been working to rehabilitate these horses into a better future. For more information on how to rescue horses in the Finger Lakes area please visit the Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program.
